Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The ability to upgrade items allows players to upgrade their weapons and equipment with new affixes, increasing its base stats or providing additional benefits. To upgrade an item, the player has to have it in their inventory, as well as access to the kiln.

Items with weak bases, like rings can be upgraded to a stronger base. Items with strong bases, such as eth Titans have little change in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors trinkets, weapons and gathering tools. They provide an attribute benefit, or an additional benefit, while the equipment is being used. Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade process differs from previous versions in several fundamental ways. Gear is now classified into tracks and each item can be upgraded as many times before it's "leveled out." The cost of upgrading increases with each level, but the materials required do not. This allows players to focus their efforts on a specific few items and maximize the impact of these items rather than spreading upgrade costs over multiple pieces.

This will enable the item to receive new upgrade components, and have a greater chance of success. This bonus is known as the Artisan’s Energy and it resets to 0 if an upgrade fails, or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

When a piece is upgraded to its highest level, it can receive affixes to boost its attributes. The number of affixes that are available is determined by the item's kind. For example, a rare or unique weapon with a normal base will only have two affixes to choose from, whereas legendary armors can have up to eight affixes available for it.

Each upgrade will require a certain number of Flightstones and crests to complete, depending on the item's current level and the item upgrades slot it's in. Weapons will typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item is not able to reach its max level The NPC will offer the player the option of transfer it to a different character and re-infuse it with an upgrade set that is different. This process takes up to two hours and costs the same amount of material but will have lower chances of success.

Engineers will utilize a level to compare the height of the building against an established location, such as an existing benchmark. This process is known as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings using the backsight rod and the level, then turning the level and taking the foresight rod reading. Rerolling

Rerolling refers to the process of changing an item's upgrade components.
