Path of Exile Item Upgrades

The performance of a variety of Path of Exile items can be enhanced by upgrading them. They can cause additional damage, AD or even affixes.

Rare-grade equipment is usually superior to modernized Common or Magic gear due to their higher requirements.

Armor

Armor upgrades can be applied to both armor and weapon items. They increase the stats of whatever item upgrader they are attached to. Armor upgrades are found in the game's world and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at any bonfire. Alternatively, they can also be salvaged from items with upgrade components inside them, using an expert or greater salvage kit.

The amount of damage a piece of armor or weapon is able to absorb is dependent on the level of its upgrades. The damage absorption of an armor piece will increase when it is upgraded to its maximum upgrade level. It is important to keep in mind that this will increase the weight of the armor, so it must be more heavy.

There are many different kinds of armor upgrades that are available in the game. Each one has a distinct impact. For example, some upgrades give the armor a certain amount of health points while others will make it lighter and stronger. The kind of armor upgrade an item upgrade will receive is indicated by the name of the upgrade as illustrated in the table below.

Some of the upgrades are also magic or a hybrid of magic and technology, which is shown by the "Magic" or "Hybrid" entry in the table below. Certain upgrades require charges for use. Weapons

Weapon upgrades let players increase the effectiveness of specific aspects of an weapon. Like other upgrade components jewels can be swapped out with another identical jewel without damaging it. However it is only possible to replace one jewel in an item Upgrader kit of equipment once.

It is normal to use more gems to enhance the appearance of. In addition to improving performance, the jewels also create an outer layer that is more durable than metal, which means that repeated friction from pivots doesn't cause damage as easily.

A Glyphmaster can provide glyphs that can enhance the appearance of your weapons and shields. They offer a small benefit and can be swapped freely but aren't guaranteed to drop as loot. They can be acquired starting in the starter areas as loot or personal story rewards from vendors, and through performing road interactions. They can be found on the Trading Post, or crafted by jewelers.

The first trinket players will unlock is the cloak. It gives a small, but useful bonus in speed of movement and the ability to escape. The player will then be able to acquire rings, amulets and necklaces in a similar manner similar to how they obtained weapons and armor. Each piece of equipment has one upgrade slot that can accommodate either a universal upgrade or a jewel upgrade item. Universal upgrades are smaller and can be used on any equipment. Jewels cannot be upgraded or replaced and are only compatible with certain trinkets.

These trinkets also provide additional buffs and skills that remain active when the hero is not in combat. This allows a hero to be more efficient while inactive. It can also make up for the absence of good team or talent tree slots which are usually filled by a hero's top stats.

A good general rule of thumb for trinket upgrades is to prioritize BiS (Best-in-Slot) items that you will not replace soon, followed by items with desirable stats that are less important than the iLevel of the item level upgrade being upgraded. This is especially true if you're looking to upgrade several statistics on an item upgrader kit. It is best to upgrade just one crucial stat rather than two suboptimal ones.

Jungle players usually upgrade their yellow trinkets to a red one at the beginning of the game. Top and mid players, on the other hand, will choose either a pink or green ward, based on the matchup. These choices will have a major impact on the hero's map control abilities.
